Jack Purcell Low Profile Slip

Our trip through the Converse.com site continues with the Jack Purcell Low Profile Slip.  I gotta tell ya, for some reason I am never quite comfortable with the profile of the slip-ons.  They seem to lose the classic profile just enough and the smiley face doesn't always bring it back home.  In fact, the smiley face always looks slightly strange to me on the slip, almost a pasted-on look.  But I have some pals who swear by them, so who am I to judge?

Jack Purcell - Unofficial Jack Graft Edition!

In all of my years as your Unofficial Jack, I have never receive anything from Converse to influence my straight ahead assessment of what is going on in the Jack Purcell world... until now.  I have to come clean:  I got some sneakers sent my way!

Three pairs of sneakers were sent my way.  The first was the Jack Purcell Hancock Vulcanized Articles with the distinctive logo on the back.  I'm always a big fan of the high-top sneaks because of my cruddy feet and these fit well.  The line of the sneaker is spot on.  Sometimes, the high top looks awkward but the V-A works nice. The customized pouch is always a good touch.  Since it does not rain in Southern California, the vulcanized part, the waterproof part, may be less applicable.  But always appreciative...

The gray smiley face toe works for me, I tend to trend towards tones anyway.  One of the nice extras (not pictured) is an alternate color scheme for the laces.  Provided as an extra is a set of laces that match the smiley face.  Nice...

The V-A logo stitched into the back of the sneaker is also a cool touch.

The second set of sneakers receive was the Jack Purcll Mid Admiral.  I cannot express how much of a fan I am of the leather line of Jack Purcell's.  With my crappy feet, leather support is much appreciated.  I have already worn these to a party.

The cork insole is a nice touch and helps with the comfort.

Jack Purcell Tumbled Leather

Our trip through the winter Converse.com site continues with the Jack Purcell Tumbled Leather.  Some of my favorite JP's are the leathers, I like the attention to the cork-style insole.  The leathers seem to hold up better as going-out shoes than the canvas so save them for the important meetings.  Comes in white and black but the black really holds up best.

Jack Purcell Brushed Cotton Low

Continuing our pass through the Converse.com site... the Jack Purcell Brushed Cotton Low.  I haven't seen these in person yet, so not sure if these are 'suede-y' or what but curious.  Comes in black and blue but I think I like the black better.

Jack Purcell Brushed Cotton

We would be remiss if we didn't update the goings on at the Converse website proper... This is the brushed cotton mid.  Unofficial Jack is a huge fan of the mids...

Um, not sure what to say here, except, fuzzy slipper.  Strangely attractive...
